Best AI chatbot apps for Wix (2026)
“Best” depends on what you need the chatbot to do. For most small business sites the job is simple: answer the questions visitors already ask by email and phone, using the information already on the website, without creating new work. Here is what to check, in order, and then a table of five App Market apps, including ours.
1. Where do the answers come from?
Some chatbots answer from a general AI model, so they sound confident about things that have nothing to do with your business. Others read your website, or documents you upload, and answer only from that. For a business site you want the second kind. Test: ask about your opening hours. If the answer does not match your Hours page exactly, keep looking.
2. What happens when it does not know?
Visitors will ask things your site does not cover. The right behaviour is a short “I don’t have that on this website” plus your email, phone or contact page. The wrong behaviour is a guess. Test: ask something you have never written about.
3. What does it cost on a busy month?
Credit or message-based plans look cheap until a busy week uses the allowance; then the chatbot either stops or you pay more. A flat monthly price with a generous allowance is easier to live with. Ask two questions: “What happens on the day I run out?” and “Can my bill ever be higher than the plan price?” The models are compared in Wix chatbot pricing: credits vs flat rate.
4. Do you need a human in the chat?
If you want to take over conversations yourself, or move them to WhatsApp or Messenger, you need a live-chat app with an AI layer, and you will be paying for seats and conversations as well as AI. If you only want visitor questions answered from your site, a pure AI chatbot is simpler and cheaper. Decide this before comparing prices; it splits the table below in two.
5. How much setup is there, honestly?
In the Wix App Market the install is one click and the settings live in your Wix dashboard; here is the step by step. Chatbots that need a pasted script need Custom Code, which Wix makes available on published sites with a connected domain, plus a second account on the vendor’s site. Chatbots that need you to upload documents or write answers by hand need ongoing maintenance every time your site changes. Also check whether the listing says “Premium Site Required”.
6. Does it keep up with your site?
If you change prices or hours, how soon does the chatbot know? Look for automatic re-reads on a schedule plus a button to re-read now.
7. What happens when you leave?
Uninstalling should turn the bubble off immediately and delete your content within a stated period. If the vendor’s privacy policy does not say what happens on uninstall, assume nothing is deleted.

These are chat apps that advertise AI answers, found through an App Market search for “ai chatbot” on October 16, 2026: Wix’s own app first, then the others by number of reviews. Ratings, review counts and prices are from each listing on that date; prices are US dollars a month on monthly billing (the listings’ Monthly toggle). Each listing shows a lower per-month price on yearly billing. We have left out adjectives on purpose.

Where we are weaker
To be plain about it: FlatRateChat has no live-agent handoff, no WhatsApp, Messenger or Instagram, no lead-capture forms, no bookings and no order tracking. It does not take uploaded documents; it answers only from your published pages. If you need any of those, Chatway or Ultimo Bots cover them on the table above. If you need a human to be able to step into the chat from your Wix Inbox, Smart Chat does that and we do not.
